Moving House!
Moving out of our flat and across West London to Richmond, to live in a house next door to our friends from University! Wish us luck packing all our stuff up, ha!

Visited Düsseldorf and Glasgow on seperate stag-dos!
Düsseldorf: Had lot of fun exploring Altstadt, trying an altbier or two! I also checked out an exhibition on Anne Truitt at the K20 gallery. Something about her colourful minimal scultpures and canvases deeply resonated with me.
I bought her 'Daybook' of her journal entries from the gift shop and it was my companion in coffee shops, a 'Little Tokyo' Ramen Bar and the airport during my solo day in Düsseldorf. I feel like music artists can learn a lot from the purity of painters and sculptors.
Glasgow: As best man, I was organising this stag-do for my friend Harry! Love this city every time I go. Lively but laid back, artsy and independent, welcoming...saw a Hollie Cook gig at the inconic King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, checked out Loch Lomand, climbed Beinn Dubh, did some whiskey tasting at Luss Distillery. Great weekend but also relieved all the organisation is over!
Toucan Echo: Tracking New EP: Loose Feathers!
Harry and I managed to catch up for a few days in March and track drums for some new Toucan Echo songs!
The band has always had a DIY ethos, though maybe not a straight up 'punk' sound. But right now I'm really inspired by the stories in the book 'Our Band Could Be Your Life', especially the Minutemen and their idea that punk rock is really less about a sound and more about freedom to do what you want.
So unsurprisingly these new songs lean more punk-rock in sound and style - short and to the point!
I'm working through my guitar, bass and vocal tracking!
If I were to guess, it'll be released later this year as a 6 song EP. Working title is Loose Feathers!
Toucan Echo: HTML Site
Given losing a bunch of our old live streams was what inspired this whole forray into IndieWeb and HTML websites, I am building one for Toucan Echo also. I really, irrationally adore my personal website (this one you're on!) and adding features and articles to it. And I feel the same warm fuzzy feelings about the band one I'm building.
And having fun is the most important thing, right?
